CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Criminal complaints were filed yesterday against six Chinese men and their Filipino cohort in connection with the kidnapping of 11 Chinese in Kawit and Noveleta in Cavite.

Maj. Richard Corpuz, Kawit police chief, said charges for serious illegal detention were filed before the Imus prosecutor’s office against Lin Peng, 30; Ji We Jun, 30; Wang De Fong, 30; Hu Bao Hua, 29; Yan Xu, 36, and Teddy Lim.

Corpuz said Rufino Setenta, 42, was charged with illegal possession of firearms and serious illegal detention.

The suspects are alleged members of a loan shark gang preying on casino players.

Corpuz said a manhunt for two other suspects identified as Andy Tan, 31, and July Lee, 36, are ongoing.

He said they are coordinating with the Chinese embassy regarding the cases.

Police rescued 10 Chinese men held captive for almost a month at a rented apartment in Noveleta on Monday.

On Sunday night, police rescued Ai Wu Yong, 27, who escaped from his captors through an open window of a house in Kawit.
