MANILA, Philippines — A jobless man was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly cracked a bomb joke while queuing at the Gil Puyat Avenue station of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) in Pasay City, an official said yesterday.
Akhbar Ismael was detained at the Pasay police station after a guard heard him saying that his companion was carrying a bomb inside his bag, said city police chief Col. Noel Flores.
The guard inspected the bag after the station’s metal detector went off.
He was charged with violating Presidential Decree 1727, the anti-bomb joke law.
