Support Bam Aquino’s reelection bid — Franklin Drilon

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bam Aquino’s reelection bid received a big boost after Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon endorsed him in his home province of Iloilo.

In a rally in Iloilo City on Wednesday, Drilon called on his fellow Ilonggos to make Aquino their number one senator in the May elections.

“Let us help keep Senator Bam in the Senate,” Drilon said in addressing residents at the North Fundidor Gym in Molo. “He’s one of the brightest senators I have ever worked with in the Senate.”

Drilon said Aquino is ”sincerely concerned” about his countrymen, adding that he is  the first candidate for senator that he endorsed.

Drilon said Aquino as well as his family are  “dependable allies” in the development of Iloilo, citing various projects funded during the previous administration.

Drilon also cited Aquino’s legislative accomplishments, including the Free College Law.

Meanwhile, Aquino thanked Drilon for his ”overwhelming support” for his candidacy.

“The endorsement from a well-loved and respected lawmaker means a lot,” Aquino said.
