TUGUEGARAO, Philippines — A village councilman was arrested following a search on his home that resulted in the recovery of a firearm and ammunition in Lasam, Cagayan on Saturday.
Police reportedly recovered an unlicensed pistol and bullets from the house of Joe Madriaga, 49, in Barangay Sicalao.
The searched was conducted in the presence of other barangay officials such as councilman Loreto Calumag and councilwoman Jesusa Pascual.
