LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines — A man accused of raping a seven-year-old girl in Manabo, Abra in 2012 was arrested in Bucay town on Thursday.
Rolando Bernese was apprehended at his house in Barangay Layugan based on a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 58 Judge Raphiel Alzate. Bail was set at P200,000.
Bernese reportedly went into hiding in Manila after the incident.
The suspect is being held at the provincial jail.
