11 held for drugs

MANILA, Philippines — At least 11 persons were arrested for drug-related offenses in Metro Manila over the past two days.

In Caloocan, Belen Piñero, 39; and her children Mary Mother Josephine Esguerra, 18, and Rodney Esguerra, 19, were arrested in a sting at a gas station on Rizal Avenue at around 4 a.m. yesterday.

Also in Caloocan, Bernardo Padilla was arrested for carrying methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu while visiting his wife Sarah Datiles, who is being held on drug charges in Police Community Precinct 3 on Wednesday.

Eudaldo Babagay, 61, was arrested in a drug bust in Barangay Hagonoy, Taguig City Wednesday night along with Mark Anthony Espenida, 33, and Lorenzo Babagay, 37.

Alleged pusher Joseph Alquino, 42, and his reported courier, Michael Bermio, were arrested in separate stings in San Juan City on Wednesday.

In eastern Metro Manila, five persons were arrested in separate stings.

Taho vendor Francisco Estrada, 42, reportedly sold shabu to customers as a sideline in Marikina.

Lerie Reyes, 23; Kervanie Ativo, 28; Gian Carlo Esteban, 24; and Gerry Cardel, 34, were arrested in Mandaluyong City at past midnight yesterday. – Robertzon Ramirez, Non Alquitran,
