‘Narco cop’ slain in Isabela

TUGUEGARAO  , Philippines  —  A police officer reportedly included in the drug list of local authorities was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Cordon, Isabela on Wednesday. 

Senior Police Officer 4 Ronald Galap was standing beside his vehicle in Barangay Tanggal when he was killed. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital due to several gunshot wounds in the body.

Galap was formerly assigned with the Cordon police station. He was transferred to the Lubuagan police station in Kalinga last year after he was linked to the illegal drug trade, according to case investigator SPO4 Franklin Alvarez.

On the same day, a drug suspect and two others were killed in alleged encounters with police officers in Cavite, Batangas and Quezon on Wednesday.

Allan Rey Isidro, who was on the drug list of the police, resisted arrest following a sting in Barangay San Rafael 4, Noveleta.

In Batangas, Reynaldo Cabungcal reportedly shot at the officers who were serving a warrant for his arrest in Barangay Lagnas, Balayan town.

Rhoben Evangelio was driving his motorcycle when an unidentified assailant shot him in Barangay Mangilag Sur, Candelaria, Quezon.
