Army names new logistics chief
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army has a new assistant chief of staff for logistics in the person of Col. Rey Alemania, a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.
He officially replaced Col. Glenn Cruz in a change of office ceremony held in Fort Bonifacio last week presided by Army acting chief of staff Brig. Gen. Jose Faustino Jr.
The Army said Alemania has a master’s degree in business administration and public management and prior to his current post, he was the deputy of the Office of the Army Finance Management.
He was also a former commanding officer of four different battalions from 2005 to 2014 and became the assistant chief of staff for operations of the Mechanized Infantry Division in 2015.
Alemania said “it is a great challenge for anyone in this position on how to synchronize logistics programs with financial resource execution and that’s what I’ve been tasked to do.”
