Beauty parlor robber arrested in Mandaluyong City
MANILA, Philippines — A passerby and angry bystanders helped catch one of two men who allegedly robbed a beauty parlor in Mandaluyong City on Sunday.
Manuel Jose Ringor, 27, told police he was driving a motorcycle with his wife and son as his passengers when they saw a man rush out of a beauty parlor on Aglipay street in Barangay Poblacion at around 12:40 p.m.
The man got into a taxi (UVX-548) parked a few meters away from the parlor. The vehicle sped toward Sta. Mesa in Manila.
Rigor failed to block the taxi but continued following the vehicle, shouting for help. Bystanders threw stones at the taxi until it came to a complete stop along Quirino Highway.
One of the suspects escaped, leaving behind taxi driver Victorio Ramirez, 54, who was found to be carrying a 12-inch knife.
Two of the victims identified Ramirez as the man who robbed the beauty parlor’s employees and customers, said Chief Superintendent Bernabe Balba, Eastern Police District director.
