MANILA, Philippines — A 64-year-old woman who attended the burial of her sister was shot dead in Malabon over her alleged swindling activities.
Lucila Marasigan was on her way home after attending the interment of her sister when she was shot in the head, allegedly by Wilfredo Patola, along A. Bonifacio street in Barangay Flores Sunday noon.
The suspect, identified by the victim’s daughter-in-law, sped off on a motorcycle and remains at large.
Complaints of estafa were filed against Marasigan before the barangay hall, according to Senior Inspector Ronald Carlos, Malabon police station investigation and detective management branch chief.
Police recovered a fired .45 caliber cartridge case at the crime scene.
