3 Taiwanese held, shabu chemicals seized in Quezon
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three Taiwanese citizens and a Filipina were arrested in Infanta, Quezon yesterday for illegal possession of chemicals used to manufacture shabu.
Tian-You Jhuo, alias Pempao; Ching-Huang Wang, alias Wang; Ching-Weng Lin, alias Awon, and Kimberly de Vera were collared in a motorized boat along the shore in Barangay Dinahican at around 4 a.m. They are being held at the Infanta police station.
Senior Superintendent Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said at least 10 sacks and 22 gallons of shabu precursors were recovered from the suspects.
De Guzman said they are still waiting for the result of the inventory of the seized chemicals by a team of Scene of the Crime Operatives.
Personnel of the Infanta police, Calabarzon Maritime Group and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the operation.
De Guzman said the suspects had been under surveillance for several months after villagers reported their presence.
Chief Inspector Lowell Atienza, Infanta police chief, said the suspects rented a warehouse in the town, where they store shabu chemicals.
“They transport the finished products to Metro Manila... They will stay here for about a week and leave again,” Atienza said.
