4 dead in Zambales road mishap

CABANGAN, Zambales  , Philippines  —  Four persons died in an accident along the highway in Barangay San Rafael in this town on Friday. 

A Mitsubishi Montero (UQI-990) owned by the Masinloc power plant crashed into a  gray Toyota Vios (VDX- 231) at around 2:30 a.m.

The fatalities were identified as SUV passenger Maria Ofelia Ebue; Danilo Ladrigan, driver of the Toyota Vios, his wife Jo Ruby and their companion Camille Lapuz, 22.

The driver of the SUV, Gilbert Elorde, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital in Iba for treatment. SUV passengers Noralyn Zepeda, 46, and Elmer Quintero, 53, were brought to the Sta. Cecilia Medical Center.

Two-year-old Dany Princess, daughter of the Ladrigan couple, was unhurt.

Initial investigation showed the Toyota Vios hit the Mitsubishi Montero when Ladrigan swerved to the opposite lane.
