MANILA, Philippines — Ten people were injured in a collision involving three vehicles, including a bus, along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

Probers said a UV Express van, a private car and a bus were traversing the avenue’s northbound lane when they collided in front of a gas station in Barangay Old Balara at around 12:40 a.m.

The van driven by Rolando Seguro was hit on the left side by a Nissan Sentra driven by Chito Fortu. The van turned right from the impact and was hit by the Kellen Transport bus driven by Marjon Caubat, 30.

The van hit the concrete barrier of the gas station, which was being renovated.

The injured passengers of the van – Malissa Perez, 17; Gibete Veric, 28; Ralph Joseph Baluyo, 20; Raymond Villanueva, 27; Mariel Castro, 28; Rommel Chicano, 26; Emee Labii, 40; Richard Estimo, 27, and Dennis Cordero – were bought by emergency responders to the East Avenue Medical Center, Quezon City Memorial Medical Center and Saint Luke’s Medical Center.

The injured passenger of the sedan, who was not named, was brought to the FEU Hospital for medical attention. 

Fortu fled the scene after the accident. Police arrested him at his house.
