Man seen hitting traffic enforcers in viral video nabbed for guns, explosives

MANILA, Philippines (Updated 10:51 a.m.) — Police on Friday reportedly found unlicensed firearms and explosives at a house of a man caught on CCTV earlier this month hitting barangay traffic enforcers for flagging his luxury car down in Makati.
According to a report on radio dzBB, police who raided two houses of businessman Arnold Padilla found two grenades, a .45 pistol and a shotgun. He has been arrested and will be brought to Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig, the report also said.
In an interview with reporters, Padilla said village officials of Barangay Magallanes in Makati have been "persecuting" him and his family.

"[M]eron po silang kakaibang galit samin na hindi namin alam kung bakit, kaya po nangyayari ang lahat ng ito," he said.
(They are particularly angry at us, we don't know why, that's why all of this is happening)
Padilla also said that his children have been traumatized by the supposed persecution.
"Wala naman po sanang ilegal o hindi tama na gagawin sa amin," he also said.
(I hope nothing illegal or wrong will be done to us)

The basis for the search warrant issued by a Makati City court is still unclear but police said in an August 17 report by The STAR that the traffic enforcers that Padilla, his wife and bodyguards attacked have filed charges of direct assault.
Padilla has also filed charges of physical injuries, unjust vexation, coercion and threats against the enforcers involved in the incident.
According to the same The STAR report, a source said that Padilla is one of the persons police are monitoring for illegal drug activities but is not included in the drug watchlist of Barangay Magallanes in Makati.
The source also said Padilla has a pending case for theft filed in 2015 and murder charges in 2007 and 2008.
He and his mother Arlene were also charged with murder and frustrated murder in connection with a “gift bomb” that killed his sister Yvonne Geraldine Padilla-Chua in 2010.
