3 Chinese arrested in Makati for kidnapping fellow Chinese

MANILA, Philippines — Three Chinese men were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a fellow Chinese in Makati on Tuesday.

They were Wana Ping, 46; Yuan Jun, 47, and He Ping, 45, all billeted at the City of Dreams in Parañaque City.

The suspects allegedly kidnapped Chao Yu, 28, from his condominium unit along Chino Roces Avenue in Barangay Pio del Pilar on Aug. 19.

Probers said Yu’s Filipina partner paid the suspects P100,000 through money transfer in exchange for the victim’s release.

The suspects allegedly demanded another P300,000 to be deposited in the bank, prompting Richmond Acosta, brother of the victim’s partner, to report the incident to authorities.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of kidnapping for ransom.
