MANILA, Philippines — Customers of west zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. can now enjoy stable water supply after three days of interruptions in several parts of Metro Manila.

In its latest advisory, Maynilad said it has lifted the implementation of the rotational water availability schedule after the turbidity of water from Ipo Dam returned to manageable levels.

This allowed Maynilad to increase water production at the La Mesa Treatment Plants and start filling reservoirs to ensure a sufficient supply for customers.

“Water production is back to normal but some customers may still have low water pressure owing to simultaneous withdrawal from our pipelines but this would improve gradually,” Maynilad said.

Customers are advised to let the water flow from their faucets for a few seconds until the water clears.

Maynilad still warned customers to store water should another circumstance happen given the changing weather patterns that may bring heavy rains over the Ipo watershed and cause the turbidity to increase again.

The increase in the turbidity of raw water coming from Ipo Dam was due to the heavy rains over the weekend.
