MANILA, Philippines — Two drug suspects were killed in anti-drug operations in Bulacan while another was gunned down by motorcycle-riding assailants in Negros Occidental on Thursday.

Jayvee Lagrimas and an alias Dodong drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Minuyan, San Jose del Monte and Lumbac, Pulilan, respectively, police said.

In Negros Occidental, Samson Faniega, 34, was driving a tricycle when he was shot in Barangay Poblacion, Hinigaran town.

Chief Inspector Jake Barila, Hinigaran police chief, said Faniega was a close aide of the suspected leader of the Ramos drug ring operating in the town.

Prior to his death, Faniega reportedly told his father that he received death threats on suspicions that he had a hand in the arrest of his cohorts.

In Zamboanga City, Senior Inspector Julius Dao-an said sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P380,000 were recovered from Aldin Awod, Almikdal Ahmad and Loyed Uy who were arrested in stings in Barangays Mampang and San Roque also on Thursday.

Ronald Cagalingan, a known drug pusher in Cavite City, was arrested based on a warrant for frustrated murder issued by a local court.

Police said Cagalingan was on the list of “high-value” drug suspects. – Gilbert Bayoran, Roel Pareño, Ed Amoroso
