Mechanic crushed under bus

MANILA, Philippines — A 56-year-old mechanic died after he was crushed by a bus he was repairing in Quezon City on Wednesday.

Clemente Beran was repairing one of the vehicles of the Global Football Club at the parking lot of the University of the Philippines (UP) gymnasium when the bus slipped from the hydraulic jack and fell on him at around 2:15 p.m., a witness said.

Several people had to help move the victim from underneath the bus before he could be rushed to the UP Health Service, where he was declared dead on arrival, police said.
