2 drown in Iloilo river

ILOILO CITY, Philippines — Two persons drowned in Dingle, Iloilo on Tuesday afternoon.

Mila delos Santos, 50, and Julie Cahilo, 51, were crossing a river in Barangay Sinabaan when they were swept away by the current at around 3 p.m.

Delos Santos’ body was recovered an hour after the accident. She was declared  dead on arrival at a hospital, according to town police chief Senior Inspector Samuel Vipinosa.

Cahilo’s body was recovered at noon yesterday.
