Magnitude 4.2 quake jolts Lanao del Sur
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology on Sunday recorded a magnitude 4.2 quake that rocked Lanao del Sur.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the quake’s epicenter was located 5 kilometers north east of Wao, Lanao Del Sur. The quake occurred at around 10:21 a.m.
The tremor was felt at Intensity III in Wao, Lanao Del Sur and Kalilangan, Bukidnon. Baungon, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City experienced the quake at Intensity II.
There is no expected damage or aftershock from the earthquake.
Phivolcs said nine other earthquakes were recorded on Sunday in the areas of Lanao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Batangas, Bataan, Negros Oriental, Catanduanes, and Aurora.
All of the earthquakes were determined to be tectonic in origin.
