MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were arrested in a sting in Parañaque City Thursday night, with police confiscating more than 40 sachets of shabu from the suspects.
Renato Reyes Barretto, 58, and Pery Bell Canlas Rioferio, 35, were caught in the drug bust along Extra Extension, Fourth Estate in Barangay San Antonio at around 11:40 p.m.
The operation was conducted by the city police’s drug enforcement unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Barretto reportedly sold a sachet of shabu for P300 to a police officer who posed as a buyer, according to a police report.
Police seized from Barretto a black leather pouch containing 40 sachets of shabu and a sachet of dried marijuana leaves.
A sachet of shabu was also seized from Rioferio.
Police noted that the two suspects were not in the local drug watchlist.
