Medina said they have been holding dialogues with residents to convince them to surrender their unlicensed guns.

The military has recovered around 300 assorted firearms in Sulu since February.

In Zamboanga Sibugay, officials of Malangas town turned over 18 shotguns, five caliber .45 pistols, a caliber .22 pistol, a hand grenade and four rifle grenades.
