MANILA, Philippines — Five persons, including a minor, were shot dead in Luzon on Wednesday.

Jansen Landingin, 16, a resident of Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan, was in a passenger jeepney (AVG-948) when he was shot in Barangay Malabago in Mangaldan town.

Landingin was pronounced dead on arrival at the Region 1 Medical Center.

Probers are looking into the possible link of the killing of Landingin with the death of two men in Dagupan on Tuesday. The bodies of Jeffrey Banaag, 33, and Jay-R Daoana were found along the road in Barangay Bonuan.

Domingo Mamaril, administrator of Barangay San Luis in Antipolo, and his wife Maribel were in their sport utility vehicle when they were waylaid in Barangay San Roque.

The couple suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene.

Police are eyeing a land dispute as the motive for the killing.

Renato Batang Sr., 54, was cooking in his kitchen in Barangay San Miguel, Baggao, Cagayan when unidentified men entered and shot him several times. He died at the scene.

In Batangas, Nestor Abella and his wife were riding a motorcycle on their way home when unidentified men on another motorbike shot him in Barangay Calubcub II in San Juan town.

Abella was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Juna District Hospital. His wife was injured when their motorcycle crashed following the shooting. – Non Alquitran, Raymund Catindig, Emmanuel Tupas
