DOLE to issue rules for ‘endo’ order
MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will issue the implementing rules and regulation (IRR) for the new policy on contractualization, an official said yesterday.
DOLE Undersecretary Bernard Olalia said they would come out with the IRR to guide labor inspectors in ensuring compliance of employers with Department Order 174.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III earlier said they would hire an additional 200 labor inspectors to implement the policy.
Bello said there are only 500 labor inspectors tasked to inspect over 90,000 commercial establishments nationwide.
A group of workers will hold a rally today in front of the Supreme Court and the DOLE main office in Intramuros, Manila to urge President Duterte to recall the policy.
