Magnitude 4.6 quake shakes Davao, 2 hurt
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Thursday morning reported that a magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted Davao City.
In its 10 a.m. advisory, Phivolcs said the tremor which occurred at 9:50 a.m. was felt at Intensity IV in Davao City. It was considered moderately strong felt by people indoors and outdoors.
Reports said the quake damaged a waiting shed leaving two people hurt.
The quake was also felt at Intensity I in Kidapawan City.
Phivolcs traced the epicenter of the quake at 9 kilometers north west of Davao City, Davao del Sur. It has a depth of focus of 15 kilometers.
No aftershock is expected in the quake determined to be tectonic in origin.
