MANILA, Philippines - Brig. Gen. Arnel dela Vega is the new commander of the 6th Infantry Division (ID) based in Maguindanao.
Dela Vega replaced Maj. Gen. Carlito Galvez who was named chief of the Western Mindanao Command.
The change of command ceremony was presided by Army chief Lt. Gen. Glorioso Miranda at Camp Siongco on Thursday.
Dela Vega is a former commandant of the General Staff College of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He served as commander of the 603rd Infantry Brigade, a unit of the 6th ID, before he was named assistant division commander.
He was also a former commander of Task Force Sulu based in Jolo. – Michael Punongbayan, John Unson
