TESDA employees to undergo drug test

MANILA, Philippines – Employees and trainees of the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) are set to undergo mandatory drug test, an official said yesterday.

TESDA director general Guiling Mamondiong ordered all regional directors to subject their personnel to random drug testing.

Mamondiong said TESDA has formed a group tasked to formulate rules in the implementation of the drug tests.

The move is in support of the government’s campaign against illegal drugs, he said.

TESDA will also mount activities for employees and students to raise awareness on the ill effects of drugs.

Mamondiong said the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Civil Service Commission Circular No. 13 provide for a drug-free workplace in the bureaucracy.
