ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Three suspected criminals were killed in a reported shootout with police in Isabela City, Basilan on Wednesday.
The fatalities were identified as Daud Anjawani, his son Jerome and a certain Marcos. They were tagged in the killing of a former village chairman recently, said Senior Superintendent Shepard Reyes, Basilan police director.
Reyes said the shootout occurred during pursuit operations in Barangay Lanote at around 2:30 p.m.
He said two other suspects escaped.
