Drug syndicate boss, 'lieutenant' caught in CAR

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet — A local drug syndicate boss and his trusted aide were caught in sting operations over the weekend.

Rashid Amito Lazim alias Alex, 41, married, a vendor from Marawi City and presently residing at Buyagan, La Trinidad here was caught Saturday night in front of his rented apartment while selling three heat-sealed sachets of shabu, weighing more or less 15 grams, to a government agent.

Lazim yielded the buy-bust money worth P30,000 and a mobile phone, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera said.

Getting information from Lazim, agents caught Abdullah Lumano Mangoranca, 33, also from Marawi and said to be a local drug syndicate leader, selling three heat-sealed sachets containing shabu worth P4,000 near his residence at Central Fairview in Baguio City.

Aside from the three sachets of shabu seized from Mangoranca, authorities also got the buy-bust money, 12 heat-sealed sachets containing shabu and a brown sling pouch. 

The total 15 sachets of shabu confiscated from the local drug leader, weighing more or less 42.92 grams, are valued at P215,673.
