Cagayan to get P603.2 M road projects
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines -The Department of Agriculture will build over P603.22 million worth of farm-to-market roads and bridges in Cagayan.
Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said he turned over the documents for the three projects to Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba last week.
Piñol said the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP), which is funded by the World Bank, approved a 13.1-kilometer road and an 87-meter bridge to be built in Alcala town. The project is worth P200.025 million.
He said the PRDP also approved the 17.4-kilometer Namabbalan Norte-Baliuag-Bical-Cabbo road in Tuguegarao City and a 57-meter bridge worth P200.613 million as well as the Iraga-Bayabat road in Amulung and Solana towns with 20.25 kilometers of concrete road and 143 lineal meters of bridge amounting to P203.195 million.
The PDRP is one of the major foreign-funded projects being implemented by the DA to support the construction of roads and bridges and finance livelihood projects and facilities to ensure greater productivity of farmers and fisherfolk.
