7 more drug suspects killed in Luzon, Visayas

MANILA, Philippines - Seven more drug personalities were killed in separate incidents across the country in the past three days.

Two were killed in Negros Occidental, one shot by unidentified men in Barangay 2 Poblacion in EB Magalona town on Sunday.

Probers said Robert Frias, 37, was standing in front of a store along Rufo Yorac street when he was gunned down.

Senior Inspector Bonifacio Aral, EB Magalona police chief, said Frias was ranked second on the drug watchlist of the town.

Frias’ wife told police the gunman was wearing a bandana.

In Ilog town, Rogelio Tulio Jr., 51, a drug dependent who recently surrendered, was found dead in Barangay Tabu.

A note that read: “Huwag niyo akong tularan” (Do not emulate me),” was found near Tulio’s body.

Meanwhile, in Bulacan, a man with an alias of Kalbo was killed when he shot it out with anti-drug operatives in Sitio Ahunin, Barangay Bigte in Norzagaray, said Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, provincial police director.

Rommel Enriquez, alias Kukay, was killed in a reported shootout with police during a sting in Biñan City before dawn yesterday.

In Pangasinan, carpenter Reggie Sison, 40, who was on the barangay drug watchlist, was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Bonuan Gueset in Dagupan City.

Also yesterday, former Alicia, Isabela councilor Rommel Go was  shot dead while driving his sport utility vehicle on his way home after bringing his children to school.

Chief Inspector Santos Tecbobolan, Alicia police chief, said Go surrendered recently under Oplan Tokhang.

Chinese inmates

Three Chinese inmates in the maximum security facility at the Davao Penal Colony in Braulio Dujali town in Davao del Norte were stabbed dead on Saturday night.

The Davao del Norte police said Li Alan Yan, 54; Chu Kin Tung, 46, and Wong Meng Pin, 53, were convicted of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Initial investigation identified the suspects as Leopoldo Tan Jr. and Fernando Magdadaro. – Ed Amoroso, Edith Regalado, Gilbert Bayoran, Raymund Catindig, Eva Visperas
