Taguig clothing warehouse catches fire, almost 10 million in damage

MANILA, Philippines - At least P10 million in damages were left by a fire that struck a garments warehouse in Taguig City on Wednesday night.

According to the Taguig City Fire Department, the fire started at about 6 p.m. at Unit 506  of the VFP Building at the Veterans Center in Barangay Western Bicutan which is being used as a garments warehouse by a clothing company.

At around 7 p.m., firefighters have managed to control the fire. However, the fire was re-ignited after electricity to the building was restored.  

Firefighters again battled the blaze until 3:26 a.m. Thursday when it was declared under control.

No one was reported hurt or killed in the fire that reached the fifth alarm before it was put out by 4:20 a.m. Thursday.

Arson investigators meanwhile are still tracing the cause of the fire.
