MANILA, Philippines – The deputy chief of police of Libon, Albay was shot dead in an operation yesterday.
Senior Inspector Joerem Kallos was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ligao Hospital, said Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesman for the Bicol police.
Calubaquib said the incident occurred at 5:45 a.m. in Barangay Molosbolos.
Chief Inspector Rodel Pescuela, Albay Police Safety Company chief, said they were serving warrants for the arrest of several wanted persons when unidentified men shot Kallos.
