1 wounded in Zambo blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines  – A bomb exploded outside the compound of a fishing company here Thursday night, leaving one of its security guards wounded. 

Teodyver Arquiza, chairman of Barangay Talon-Talon, said the explosion occurred near YL Fishing Co. at 11:15 p.m.

Police identified the victim as Carlito Bastian.

 Chief Inspector Rhean Loyd Bato, chief of the city police bomb squad, said an improvised explosive device was used. He said parts of a mobile phone were recovered at the scene.

Police still have no leads on the motive for the bombing.

A representative of the fishing company said they have not received any threat from any group.
