Southern Mindanao police adopts PNP’s Oplan Lambat Sibat

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – The Southern Mindanao police has started implementing the Oplan Lambat Sibat, an anti-crime measure the Philippine National Police (PNP) said was proven effective in Metro Manila and nearby areas.

Regional police director Chief Superintendent Wendy Rosario said their unit has been implementing the program as a sustainable approach in managing police operations.

“This new intensified anti-crime campaign aims to regularly audit crime incident reports at the police station level and use the data to identify crime hotspots and patterns,” Rosario said.

He said the intensified police intervention includes setting up of checkpoints, deployment of foot and mobile patrols, and a focused intelligence-driven operations against most wanted persons and members of criminal groups.

“Police visibility is vital in safeguarding the community and in bringing the PNP closer to the public and building trust and confidence between them,” he added.
