KORONADAL CITY, Philippines – Two people died while four others were injured when their truck fell into a ravine in T’boli, South Cotabato yesterday morning.
Senior Police Officer 4 Roderick Fado of the T’boli police said the victims were employees of a Japanese-operated banana firm, Sumifro.
Fado said two of the six passengers died at the scene while the four others were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Reports said the Isuzu Elf truck was headed for the town proper when it figured in the accident in Barangay Salacafe.
Fado said the driver could have lost control of the wheel as it was raining and the road was slippery.
The names of the victims were not immediately available.
