Reward for arrest of Pamana’s killer now P.55 M

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Apollo Quiboloy, leader of Kingdom of Jesus Christ congregation, has pledged P50,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the killer of Philippine Eagle Pamana, raising the total bounty to P550,000.

“We should give importance not only in identifying the person who killed Pamana but…making the culprit answerable for such a dastardly act that affects our environment,” Quiboloy said.

Pamana was found dead in the forest of Mt. Hamiguitan, two months after the raptor was released into the wild last June 12.

Various groups and individuals, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Davao provincial government, the Uy family of DIMDI Inc. in Davao City, businessman and environmentalist Phillip Dizon and television personality Kim Atienza have offered reward money for the immediate capture of Pamana’s shooter.

Pamana’s death brought the population of the Philippine eagle to fewer than 400 pairs.
