Village executive shot dead

URBIZTONDO, Pangasinan, Philippines  – A village councilman was shot dead by motorcycle-riding men here on Saturday morning.

Manuel Leonardo, 51, of Barangay Sawat, died at the scene from gunshots to the head.

Reports said Leonardo was holding his five-month-old son in front of their house when a motorcycle pulled over.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim, hitting him twice in the head.

Investigators recovered two bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
