Quakes hit Davao

MANILA, Philippines - A series of earthquakes occurred in Davao del Norte on Saturday and yesterday, state seismologists said.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the first quake – magnitude-4.6 – at 11:16 p.m. on Saturday.

The quake’s epicenter was located 28 kilometers northwest of Santo Tomas town. It was felt at Intensity 4 in Santo Tomas, Intensity 3 in Davao City and Asuncion in Davao del Norte, and Intensity 2 in Tagum City. 

Phivolcs said four more quakes occurred in Santo Tomas: magnitude-3.5 at 11:37 p.m. Saturday, and magnitude-3.2 at 1:31 a.m., magnitude-3.4 at 1:42 a.m. and magnitude-3.7 at 8:52 a.m. yesterday.
