DPWH employee falls in Leyte drug ops

Anti-narcotics agents nab another government employee for illegal drug trade in Leyte.

MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nabbed a Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) employee during a buy bust operation in Leyte.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said identified the suspect as Osman Gamohay, 32, a construction maintenance man  of DPWH  provincial office in Southern Leyte.

Belated reports said that last February 22, Gamohay to meet and transact with a poseur-buyer in his neighborhood in Purok 2, Mahayahay, Maasin City, for the sale of a plastic sachet of shabu with an estimated street value of P1,000.

Upon the pre-arranged signal, PDEA personnel swooped down and arrested Gamohay after he handed over the illegal drugs.

Gamohay, now detained at the Maasin City police jail, will be charged with drug raps.

Based on the consolidated PDEA data, 85 government employees were arrested for drug related-offenses from January to December of 2014.
