Hunt on for sports car driver who mauled MMDA enforcer

MANILA, Philippines - Police are now tracking down the driver of a sports car who reportedly manhandled a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer in Quezon City Thursday morning.

An initial report by the Quezon City Police District said that MMDA traffic enforcer Jurve Adriatico took video footage of a speeding blue Maserati Marshall eastbound of Quezon and Araneta avenues in Barangay Tataon around 6:30 a.m. for a violation.

After making a U-turn, the driver of the sports car without plate number stopped and signaled to the MMDA traffic personnel to come near him.

The driver grabbed Adriatico by the shirt and  punched him while he drove his vehicle.

Adriatico was dragged a few meters before the driver let go of him, driving away with the mobile phone of the MMDA traffic enforcer.

Adriatico's companions brought the victim to the East Avenue Medical Center for treatment.
