Cop, 2 others nabbed in Misamis drugs bust

MANILA, Philippines -  Anti-narcotics agents nabbed a policeman and two others during a buy-bust operation in Misamis Occidental, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspects as Senior Police Officer 2 Peejy Amboang,40,  of Transville Villaflor, Oroquieta City, assigned at Concepcion Municipal Police Station in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental; Robert Serino, 41, of Purok 6, Casusan, Aloran, Misamis Occidental; and Kent Clarete.

Cacdac said elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Special Enforcement Team  apprehended the duo after they sold  a medium-sized sachet containing suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer at a house in Purok 5, Banisilon, Aloran, Misamis Occidental around 1:45 p.m. last October 24, 

When frisked, Amboang yielded an additional 122 pieces of plastic sachets of shabu and six more sachets of shabu  were seized from Serino.

The total confiscated drug evidence weighed approximately 25 grams with an estimated street value of P175,000.

Clarete, 27, who was present inside the house when the actual transaction went down, was also arrested.

The three suspects were brought to the PDEA RO10 Jail Facility for investigation while the pieces of drug evidence were submitted to laboratory service for forensic examination.

Amboang and Serino will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
