School principal nabbed for drugs

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines  – A principal of a public elementary school and his two companions were arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation here on Sunday, police reported yesterday.

Arrested were Alfredo Ramos, 50, of Latuan Elementary School in Curuan district; Mario Angelo Cristobal, 23, and Marbert Saavedra, 19.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro said the suspects were arrested at Ramos’ house in Sitio Ontog at around 1:30 a.m.

The arresting team recovered seven plastic sachets believed containing shabu, drug paraphernalia and P300 marked money.
