LAGUNA, Philippines – A 50-year-old woman was shot dead by her partner, who committed suicide afterwards in Los Baños town here Wednesday night.
Joy Panganiban was declared dead on arrival at a nearby clinic where her neighbors rushed her.
Suspect Numeriano San Luis, 56, shot himself in the head after killing Panganiban, said Laguna police director Senior Superintendent Romulo Sapitula.
San Luis died while undergoing treatment at the Los Baños Doctors Hospital.
Probers are eyeing jealousy as a motive for the killing. They said Panganiban and San Luis had a quarrel inside their room in Barangay Timugan.
Police officers recovered a caliber .45 pistol and seven bullet shells at the crime scene.
