MANILA, Philippines - Three men died after they were buried in a mining tunnel during a landslide in Magdiwang, Romblon on Holy Wednesday, authorities said.
The victims, identified as Noriel Rapada, 25; Louie Valencia, 21; and Ernesto Dalida, 37, were dug up from the tunnel and rushed to the Magdiwang Rural Health Unit but doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.
Authorities said continuous heavy downpour due to a low-pressure area had loosened up the soil, triggering the landslide in Magdiwang town.
