2 suspects in Ilocos village exec’s slay fall

CAMP DIEGO SILANG, La Union, Philippines – Elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested yesterday morning two suspects in the Jan. 4 killing of a barangay councilman in Sta. Maria, Ilocos Sur.

Police said Ernesto Dasalla Jr. and his son Ernesto III, tagged in the killing of councilman Remigio Atendido, yielded a grenade, a .38-caliber revolver with two rounds of live ammunition, a homemade firearm of unknown caliber, an improvised magazine for an Armalite rifle, a Baby Armalite airsoft with two magazines, and a fired .45-caliber cartridge.
