Cop kills robber, wounds another in EDSA shootout

MANILA, Philippines - A suspected robber was killed while another was wounded in a shootout with policemen after declaring holdup in side a bus along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Mandaluyong City on Friday afternoon.

The MMDA said the suspects, armed with handguns, declared the heist inside a passenger bus when the vehicle reached the corner of Reliance street and EDSDA at past 4 p.m.

The policeman in plain clothes, who was also onboard the bus, surprised the suspects who fired at the lawman.

One of the suspects was killed during the shootout while the other one was wounded and brought to a nearby hospital.
