Lightning strike kills woman in Zamboanga del Norte

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines  - - A woman was killed when lightning struck her inside her house in a village of Jose Dalman town, Zamboanga del Norte Wednesday afternoon,  police said.

The victim was identified as Elsa Abing-Dumolon, 38, married and resident of Barangay Lumaping.

Jose Dalman police chief Senior Inspector Vergil Bruce Dario said the Dumolon was sitting on her bed when she was  hit by the lightning that passed through the window of their house at about 2p.m Wednesday during the rains.

The police said the victim sustained severe burns and shock that caused her death.

Dario  said the  post mortem examination of the regional health unit on the remains of Dumolon ruled out foul play.
