Barangay exec in Cotabato nabbed for shabu

MANILA, Philippines - A 33-year-old barangay chairman in Cotabato was arrested in a buy-bust operation Thursday for selling P500 worth of shabu.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Jimmy Onotan, of Barangay Kapinpilan, Midsayap town.

Onotan was nabbed by PDEA operatives led by special enforcement group director Aileen Lovitos, who acted as the poseur buyer.

Cacdac said the suspect ranks number 8 in the Midsayap police station’s list of drug personalities.

Onotan will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
