Couple nabbed in Cotabato City for drugs

Anti-narcotics agents nabbed a suspected notorious drug pusher and her partner during a sting operation in Cotabato City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Friday.

The PDEA said the suspect Jasmine Tan, 43, a watch-listed drug personality, of Pansacala St., Cotabato City, and ; and her companion Romano Tan, 44, were arrested during a buy-bust operation last Jan. 22.

Reports said that around 2:30 p.m., an undercover agent of PDEA Regional Office Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao transacted with the suspects who agreed to sell methamphetamine hydrochloride, known as shabu, weighing approximately 0.02 gram.

After handing over the illegal drug to the agent, operatives immediately pounced on the suspects.

Confiscated from the Tans were 10 sachets of heat sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing approximately three grams, and another heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana weighing approximately three grams.

The suspects are now detained at the PDEA RO-ARMM Jail Facility, PC Hill Cotabato City.  - Dennis Carcamo
